Resolution

This service pack is recommended for all environments running Control Center 6.0 and 6.0.2.1. This service pack installs updates for the AppManager repository database, the Control Center database, and the Control Center console application. The version number for the updated files is 6.0.1038.1121. Service Pack 3 addresses the following issues:

  • Improves the overall reliability and performance of Control Center 6.0 and 6.0.2.1.
  • Enables Control Center to work with Service Pack 4 for Microsoft SQL Server 2000.
  • Resolves event view issues with parent events for existing Event views, including switching between parent and child Event views.
  • Adds the ability to save Knowledge Script properties that are part of a Knowledge Script Group.
  • Adds the ability to display Knowledge Script properties when multiple nodes of a cluster are selected.
  • Resolves issue with adding WeblogicSrvUnix job to an agent which results in the error: 'Cannot fetch KS property for KS. Object may be deleted or invalid. [FetchKSStructByName].'
  • Resolves issue with jobs using certain Knowledge Scripts not able to be launched from the Server View and the Knowledge Scripts not available for use in Knowledge Script Groups. This problem occurred with Knowledge Scripts with styleversion=4 defined in the header under <ObjType>.
  • Resolves issue with Knowledge Scripts removed from Knowledge Script Groups being renamed and displaying incorrectly in the Knowledge Script Group View instead of displaying in the actual view such as AMAdmin, NT, Discovery, and so on.
  • Resolves issue with Control Center console writing log files to the ..\Bin directory instead of the ..\Documents and Settings\taftb\Local Settings\Application Data\NetIQ folder.
  • Resolves issue with Add and Remove buttons not being available in the Manage Security dialog box. For more information, see the NetIQ Knowledge Base article NETIQKB49692: "Add and Remove buttons do not appear in the Manage Security options" at https://www.netiq.com/kb/esupport/consumer/esupport.asp?id=NETIQKB49692.
  • Resolves issue with machine selection reverting back to the first computer in the list after an auto refresh in the Server list of the Palette panel.
  • Resolves issue with Child Events not appearing when in Split view.
  • Resolves issue with details pane not updating if the logged in user is not in the built-in Administrator group in Control Center's Manage Security option.
  • Resolves issue with Knowledge Scripts not appearing in Control Center after being checked in until the console has been restarted (closed and reopened).  For more information, see the NetIQ Knowledge Base article NETIQKB51381: "When I check in Knowledge Script, it does not show up in Console Knowledge Script view until I restart Control Center Console" at https://www.netiq.com/kb/esupport/consumer/esupport.asp?id=NETIQKB51381.

To install this service pack:

  1. Ensure that the Control Center console is not running.
  2. Download the installation package, AMCC6.0Sp3.exe, from https://www.netiq.com/support/am/extended/sp.asp?version=cc6sp3.
  3. Extract the contents of the downloaded package. The default extraction location is C:\Program Files\NetIQ\AMCC6.0SP3. The package includes two installers: AMCC603.exe for the Control Center database and console, and AMQDBCC603.exe which is for AppManager Repository (QDB) only.
  4. On all AppManager Repository (QDB) computers that are controlled by Control Center run the AMQDBCC603.exe setup program. This service pack executes the CC_qdb_storedprocedure.sql script and creates a new file CC_qdb_storedprocedure.out.
  5. On all Control Center database computers, run the AMCC603.exe setup program. This service pack executes the procedure.sql script and creates a new file procedure.out.
  6. On all computers that have the Control Center console installed, run the AMCC603.exe setup program.

On computers that have both the AppManager repository (QDB) and Control Center repository installed, run both installation packages. Run AMQDBCC603.exe first, then run AMCC603.exe.
