The Updatewin2k spreadsheet does not update the email alias field of an Active Directory account with a numeric value.

The Updatewin2k spreadsheet does not recognize numeric values in the email alias field.

fix

The Updatewin2k spreadsheet does not support the inclusion of numeric values in the email alias field. To resolve this issue, you must specify the number as text, not as an number.

To specify the number as text:

Type a single apostrophe (') in front of the number to update the field using a numeric value. Preceding a number with an apostrophe causes the Updatewin2k spreadsheet  to regard the numeric value as text.

Example: To enter the number 5, type '5.
