symptom

Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) does not display new user interface extension custom pages.

symptom
Assistant Admins with appropriate permissions cannot view or modify new user interface extension custom pages.

cause

You extended the Active Directory schema, but the NetIQ Administration Service has not restarted since the schema extension.

fix

In DRA, the Administration server service account and members of the DRA Admins group can create and modify user interface extension custom pages immediately after a schema extension.  However, DRA cannot recognize the mappings between the new custom pages and the new user attribute fields until after a restart of the NetIQ Administration Service.  Without a restart of the NetIQ Administration Service, Assistant Admins delegated permissions to view or modify the new user interface extension custom pages cannot view these pages in the Account and Resource Management console.

After extending the Active Directory schema, you must restart the NetIQ Administration Service on each Administration server. Restarting the NetIQ Administration Service ensures that DRA recognizes your new Active Directory schema extensions and displays new user interface extension custom pages correctly. Restart the NetIQ Administration Service on each Administration server each time you make changes to your existing schema extensions or add new schema extensions.
