Environment

NetIQ AppManager 6.x
NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x

Situation

AD_DomainConnectivity tries to connect to domains that have been removed.
AD_DomainConnectivity generates an event stating that it cannot connect to domains, but those domains no longer exist.
Error: 'Connectivity to domain is down. event occurs for trusted domains that no longer exist.'
How can I exclude domains that have been removed without running the Discovery_AD Knowledge Script?

Resolution

To automatically refresh the list domains and trust relationships, run the Discovery_AD Knowledge Script on the domain controllers.

To exclude the domains without having to rediscover the servers:

  1. Stop the current job.
  2. Double-click the job to edit the properties of the job.
  3. Select the Object tab.
  4. Deselect any domains that you do not want evaluated by the AD_DomainConnectivity Knowledge Script.
  5. Restart the existing job.

Cause

The Knowledge Script uses the information from the initial discovery of the domain controllers for the target Managed Client's domain unless you refresh the list of trusts by running the Discovery_AD Knowledge Script.

To view the current list of domains and trusts, expand the target Domain Controller in the Operator console, then expand the Active Directory Server: <Servername> object. This list will show you the domains the Operator Console thinks the Domain Controllers have a trust relationship with.
