fix

If you no longer need a Windows agent, you can remove it from your asset map. The recommended best practice for removing or deleting Windows agents from NetIQ Vulnerability Manager is to first remove the relevant endpoints, followed by the agent, and, if necessary, followed then by the system.

To delete an endpoint:

  1. Start NetIQ Vulnerability Manager.
  2. Expand IT Assets > Agents > OS > Windows.
  3. In the right pane, select the agent for which you want to remove endpoints.
  4. Select the endpoints you want to delete.
  5. On the Actions menu, click Delete.
  6. Click Yes on the confirmation message.

To delete an agent:

  1. In the right pane, select the agent you want to delete.
  2. On the Actions menu, click Delete.
  3. Click Yes on the confirmation message.

To delete a system:

  1. Under IT Assets, click Managed Systems.
  2. In the right pane, select the system you want to delete.
  3. On the Actions menu, click Delete.
  4. Click Yes on the confirmation message.

note

Before deleting an agent, you must delete all attached endpoints, and before deleting a system, you must delete all attached endpoints and agents.
