Resolution

goal
Does the DRA SDK cover information about Web Console GetAcctBrowseCtrl?

goal
Can I find information in the DRA SDK concerning GetAcctBrowseCtrl?

goal
What does the third parameter of the GetAcctBrowseCtrl method do?

fact
Directory and Resource Administrator 7.x

symptom
The explanation of GetAccountBrowseCtrl in the DRA SDK does not describe what its third parameter actually represents.

fix

The Directory Resource Software Development Kit (SDK) includes some information about GetAcctBrowseCtrl and its functionality. However, it does not cover information about its third parameter and what it can be used for.

The third parameter of this method is a string that identifies the name of a folder under ..\Common\Scripts\SearchForms. By using the AddSearchProperty method in TaskMain.asp contained in the corresponding folder, you can add properties on which to perform the search. An additional search property corresponding to the canonical path of an OU or container allows Assistant Admins to localize their searches based on a string contained in the canonical path. This customization is relatively easy to do, and if you use a search property that is ?cached,? such as $McsFriendlyPath, search requests based on it return results quickly.

note
A request to have the SDK documentation updated is being considered for a future release. However, at this time no decision has been made to include this information.
