Resolution

fact
Exchange Migrator 2.3

symptom
When I undo all email addresses are not cleaned up.

symptom
The word 'Migrated' is not removed from the source mailbox email address.

cause
Exchange Migrator has a known issue with not cleaning up the addresses when the migrated mailbox contains two SMTP addresses, one primary SMTP and one secondary SMTP). If the mailbox has only one SMTP address or contains more than two SMTP addresses, it will correctly remove the word "--Migrated--" from all SMTP addresses.

fix

To resolve the issue, perform one of the following workarounds:

  • Manually remove the remaining "--Migrated--" from the mailbox's address after the Undo.
  • Use Microsoft Exchange Administrator to export the affected accounts to a CSV file. Remove the "--Migrated--" using Find/Replace in Microsoft Excel. Import the accounts back into the GAL using Microsoft Exchange Administrator.
  • Write a Mailbox Pre-Process script that will scan the source mailbox address (otherMailbox property) for "--Migrated--" and remove it during the migration.
