Could not update home shares for existing users.

symptom
Could not create directory \\servername\sharename\users\userID for OnePoint://CN=userID,OU=Users,DC=domain,DC=com when updating home directory path for existing users.

cause
The Home directory automation policy is enabled, but DRA is trying to update an existing user accounts Home Directory path to point to an existing share.

fix

Temporarily disable the Create home directory when user account is created option:

1. Launch the Delegation and Configuration console
2. Select the Policy and Automation Management node
3. Select the Configure Home Directory Policies... option on the right hand side
4. Select the Home Directory tab of the Home Share/Directory Properties
5. Clear the checkbox for Create home directory when user account is created.
