symptom
Subsystem ZPSD starts but all monitors have status of Stopped.

symptom
Profile QSYSOPR is used to start the ZPSD subsystem but the monitors do not start.

cause
The profile used to start the ZPSD subsystem must have *JOBCTL special authority to start the monitors under the subsystem.

fix

Check the joblog for messages related to the command that starts the ZPSD subsystem. Ensure the profile used to start the ZPSD subsystem has *JOBCTL special authority.

If you do not want profile QSYSOPR used to start the subsystem and start the monitors, you can change which profile is assigned to run the PSDetect monitor jobs.

To assign the profile that runs the PSDetect monitor jobs:

  1. From the Product Access Main Menu, type 3 (PSDetect) and press Enter.
  2. Type 10 (General System Menu) and press Enter.
  3. Type 3 (Set Default User) and press Enter.
  4. Enter the profile to run PSDetect monitor jobs. The specified profile must have authority to all monitored alert queues, appropriate commands, and *IOSYSCONFIG and *JOBCTL special authorities.
