symptom
The Impersonate User option for the SQL Server Endpoint does not work as expected.

symptom
SQL Server Endpoint cannot act as another user account.

symptom
Impersonation fails to use the correct credentials.

cause

When the Windows Agent and SQL Server Endpoint exist on the same computer, the Impersonate User option for the SQL Server Endpoint does not work as expected. The Endpoint uses the credentials of the Windows agent instead the specified credentials.

NetIQ Technical Support has identified this issue as a known problem.

fix
At this time, the only known way to work around the problem is to install the Windows agent on a separate machine from the SQL Server Endpoint. NetIQ Technical Support will update this article when another solution is available.
