When installing only the console, the pre-requisites checker states that SQL Server and other components are needed even though SQL Server is not required for running the console by itself.

NetIQ Technical Support has determined that there is an issue in the install program. If you are missing any required items when installing the console, the pre-requisites checker requires all items required by any of the Vulnerability Manager components. You do not need SQL Server to run the console.
fix
Install all items that the pre-requisite checker identifies as missing except SQL Server, and then install the console.
