To move the VigilEnt database to another computer:

  1. Back up your VigilEnt database.
  2. Ensure that target database computer has the exact same version of SQL Server as the source computer, including any service packs or hotfixes.
  3. Place your Vulnerability Manager software local to the target database computer.
  4. Perform a new installation of the database on the target database computer.
  5. On the new database machine restore the previously backed up database over the new default VigilEnt database.
  6. Redirect Core Services to the new database machine using the Core Services Configuration Utility.

To move the VigilEnt database and Core Services to other separate computers:

  1. Export your domain keys for Vulnerability Manager and save them in a location that will not be impacted by the installation changes.
  2. Back up your VigilEnt database.
  3. Ensure that target database computer has the exact same version of SQL Server and Vulnerability Manager as the source computer, including any service packs or hotfixes.
  4. Place your Vulnerability Manager software local to the target database computer.
  5. Execute a new install of the database on the target database computer.
  6. Place your Vulnerability Manager software local to the target core services computer.
  7. Execute the core services new install clearing the database check box and pointing the install to the database computer.
  8. On the database computer restore the previously backed up database over the new default VigilEnt database.
  9. Import the domain keys on the new core services computer.
  10. Redirect Core Services to the new Database computer using the Core Services Configuration Utility.
  11. Redirect the Console to the new core services computer by clicking Configure on the logon window.
