To move the VigilEnt database to another computer:
- Back up your VigilEnt database.
- Ensure that target database computer has the exact same version of SQL Server as the source computer, including any service packs or hotfixes.
- Place your Vulnerability Manager software local to the target database computer.
- Perform a new installation of the database on the target database computer.
- On the new database machine restore the previously backed up database over the new default VigilEnt database.
- Redirect Core Services to the new database machine using the Core Services Configuration Utility.
To move the VigilEnt database and Core Services to other separate computers:
- Export your domain keys for Vulnerability Manager and save them in a location that will not be impacted by the installation changes.
- Back up your VigilEnt database.
- Ensure that target database computer has the exact same version of SQL Server and Vulnerability Manager as the source computer, including any service packs or hotfixes.
- Place your Vulnerability Manager software local to the target database computer.
- Execute a new install of the database on the target database computer.
- Place your Vulnerability Manager software local to the target core services computer.
- Execute the core services new install clearing the database check box and pointing the install to the database computer.
- On the database computer restore the previously backed up database over the new default VigilEnt database.
- Import the domain keys on the new core services computer.
- Redirect Core Services to the new Database computer using the Core Services Configuration Utility.
- Redirect the Console to the new core services computer by clicking Configure on the logon window.
