What is the LicenseInstall.exe utility used for?

cause

Invalid file error when trying to apply a permanent license file.

fix

To apply the permanent license:

1. Download https://download.netiq.com/kb/files/NETIQKB48774_LicenseInstall.exe.
2. Click Start > Run.
3. Enter NETIQKB48774_LicenseInstall.exe /File <path to license file>. If you don't want to see any messages (silent mode), specify the /S option.
4. Restart the NetIQ Administration service to activate the license.

Example:  On your Directory and Resource Administrator server, in C:\License Files, you have the license file DRA.lic.  On your Directory and Resource Administrator server, run:

      LicenseInstall /File C:\License Files\DRA.lic
