Situation

An 'Access denied' error occurs when the Domain Controller running knowledge script AD_ReplSysVol attempts to access or open a file on another machine.

An AD_ReplSysVol 'Access denied' error occurs when attempting to open a file on the SYSVOL share of FRS replication partner.

Resolution

Run the netiqmc service using an account that has domain administrator privileges for the domain in which the Domain Controllers are located.

Cause

The netiqmc service is not running with credentials that allow the script to create/read/write files on the local Domain Controller's SYSVOL and read files on the SYSVOL share of the FRS partners.
