When you attempt to run a report from a stand-alone GPG Reporting computer, the following error may occur: "Error opening database connection: The partner transaction manager has disabled its support for remote/network transactions."

When you attempt to run a report from a stand-alone GPG Reporting computer, the following error may occur: "Error opening database connection: The partner transaction manager has disabled its support for remote/network transactions."
cause
DTC access is not enabled
fix
To address this issue, perform the following steps in the order specified.
From the GPG Database computer:
- Start Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
- Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
- Select Application Server and click Details.
- Select Enable network DTC access and click OK.
- Click Next to install the component.
- Click Finish then close Add/Remove Programs.
- Start Component Services in Administrative Tools.
- Expand Component Services > Computers.
- Click My Computer and select Properties from the Action menu.
- Click the MSDTC tab.
- Click Security Configuration at the bottom of the window.
- Under Security Settings, select Network Transactions.
- Click OK.
- Click OK again then close Component Services.
From the GPG Reporting computer:
- Start Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
- Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
- Select Application Server and click Details.
- Select Enable network DTC access and click OK.
- Click Next to install the component.
- Click Finish then close Add/Remove Programs.
- Start Component Services in Administrative Tools.
- Expand Component Services > Computers.
- Click My Computer and select Properties from the Action menu.
- Click the MSDTC tab.
- Click Security Configuration at the bottom of the window.
- Under Security Settings, select Network Transactions.
- Click OK.
- Click OK again then close Component Services.
From the GPG Server computer:
- Start Services in Control Panel.
- Stop the NetIQ GPG Control Service and NetIQ GPG Host Service.
- Stop the Messaging Queuing service.
From the GPG Database computer:
- Stop the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service.
- Stop the MSSQLSERVER service.
- Start the MSSQLSERVER service.
- Start the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service.
From the GPG Reporting computer:
- Stop the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service.
- Start the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service.
From the GPG Server computer:
- Start the Message Queuing service.
- Start the NetIQ GPG Control Service and NetIQ GPG Host Service.
After you complete these steps, the reports should run without error.
