Running an iSeries action, report, or security check causes an error.

symptom
Error: "End of file -1" received when running iSeries actions, reports, or security checks.

cause

The agent managing the target endpoint was recently upgraded from a version that did not support SSL communication. The new agent version uses SSL and requires you to re-register the agent in order for the agent to function properly.



fix

 To re-register the agent, complete the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Vulnerability Manager console.
  2. Select the Advanced view in the toolbar.
  3. In the tree pane, expand NetIQ Vulnerability Manager > IT Assets > Agents > OS > iSeries.
  4. In the content pane, select the agent you recently upgraded.
  5. On the Actions menu, click Reregister.
