symptom
Memberships are not properly updated for Global Groups that have been previously migrated.

symptom
I00834: Updating group membership.

symptom
I00836: Group update done.

cause

If you have not migrated any groups with the current DMA console, DMA does not detect any database mappings for user accounts and therefore does not add users to any groups. This can occur for the following reasons:

  • More than one DMA console is in use
  • DMA has been uninstalled and reinstalled

Also, if Advanced Group Options is set to Fast or Custom with no group membership update options selected (all checkboxes deselected), DMA does not update group membership.

fix

If you have not yet migrated groups, do so. DMA can then automatically add migrated users to the appropriate groups. As an alternative, you can import the group account mappings to the DMA database and then, remigrate the user accounts.

If you have already migrated groups with Advanced Group Options set to Fast or Custom, set the option to a slower setting or select one of the group membership update option checkboxes, and then, remigrate the groups.
