After installing PC Anywhere, the user interface is not working.

symptom
Unable to launch the GUI from a remote machine with PC Anywhere installed.

symptom
Cannot run the Monitor Console.

cause

PC Anywhere disabled Distributed COM on the console computer.



fix

To enable Distributed COM on the console machine:

  1. Open the Component Services Snap-In.
  2. Expand Component Services > Computers.
  3. Right-click My Computer.
  4. Select Properties.
  5. Select Enable distributed COM on this computer in Default Properties.
