AutoSync hangs when I check for updates.

cause
The proxy Internet server setting for the proxy type is incorrect. 

fix

To change the Proxy Type setting: 

  1. On the Tools menu, click AutoSyncWizard.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Expand Proxy server.
  4. Select the Proxy Type to match your network configuration.  For example, if the Proxy Type is set to SOCKS then change it to HTTP. 
  5. Click OK.
  6. Check for AutoSync updates to test your new Proxy Type setting. 
    1. On the Tools menu, click AutoSync Wizard.
    2. Click Check for Updates.
