Situation

How do I update the SMTP server SRS uses to email my AC reports?

Resolution

To change the email server SQL Server Reporting Services (SRS) uses to email your Analysis Center reports, you can modify the RSReportServer.config file that SRS uses for server location. 

To change the email server SRS uses:

  1. Browse to the following folder: ...\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Reporting Services\ReportServer .
  2. Open the RSReportServer.config file with Notepad.
  3. Search for SMTPSERVER.
  4. Replace the server name with your correct SMTP Server name, for example, SMTP.Exchangeserver.com .
  5. Save your settings and close the file.
  6. Restart the Report Server service.
