Resolution

goal
Why is the database version listed as version 2 following an upgrade to GPA 4.6?

goal
What is the difference between the version number of the repository and the version number of the database?

goal
What is the difference between repository and database version numbers?

goal
What determines the value in the fa_rep_properties database table?

fact
NetIQ Group Policy Administrator 4.6

symptom
The fa_rep_properties table of the repository database shows version 2 after an upgrade to GPA 4.6.

symptom
After performing a successful upgrade to Group Policy Administrator (GPA) version 4.6, if you launch Enterprise Manager and expand the GPO_REPOSITORY database then right click on the table fa_rep_properties and choose 'Open table - return all rows', there will be a row with the property_name 'version' that has a property_value of 2.

cause

The value displayed for the version is actually the version of the repository and not the database. In other words, this table shows a Database version of 4.6 and a repository version of 2.

fix

This is correct and the expected configuration after an upgrade to GPA 4.6.
