Error: 'User 'vigilentservice' does not have permission to run DBCC CHECKIDENT for object 'HistoricalTasks'.'

cause
This error most likely occurs when a user is trying to lock down account permissions and removes needed permissions from certain accounts.

fix

To correct this problem, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Vulnerability Manager database computer, open SQL Server Enterprise Manager.
  2. In the tree pane, expand Microsoft SQL Servers > SQL Server Group > (local) > Databases > VigilEnt.
  3. Expand the VigilEnt database and click Users.
  4. Select the VigilEntService user.
  5. On the Action menu, click Properties.
  6. Ensure the following database roles are selected: public, db_securityadmin, db_ddladmin, VigilEntUserAccess.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Close SQL Server Enterprise Manager.
