When I run a report against a large number of endpoints and try to use distribution it hangs and never distributes my report.
My report distribution fails and I never receive my report, it appears to just hang.
This issue is caused by running a Task Report or Policy Template against a large number of endpoints (200 + endpoints) with Report Distribution setup. The issue occurs when the large amount of data gets returned to Core Services then Crystal Reports writes to a standard output causing Core Services to hang. The Crystal Reports part of the process causes the problem that is the issue that causes the report generation to hang. Therefore because the report generation hangs in Crystal Reports this causes Core Services to hang and the report distribution also hangs causing an unusable report.
This issue is resolved in the 5.5 version of the NetIQ Vulnerability Manager as well as Hot Fix 47027 for Version 5.0 of the NetIQ Vulnerability manager product. Both downloads are available at the following location: https://www.netiq.com/support/vsm/default.asp.
