Resolution

fact
Directory and Resource Administrator 7.5

symptom
When modifying a Naming Convention policy, if you have the Policy relationship property set to 'This policy acts as a member...' it reverts back to 'This policy must always pass'.

cause
This is a bug where the Server resets the policy setting to 'This policy must always pass' whenever a modification is made to the policy.

fix

This issue is addressed in NetIQ Directory and Resource Administrator and Exchange Administrator version 7.5 Hotfix 46958.

This hotfix addresses an issue with how DRA handles modifications to existing policies.  When you edit an existing policy, DRA sets the Policy relationship property to This policy must always pass.  This hotfix corrects this issue and makes sure DRA correctly handles the Policy relationship property value.

Note: This Hotfix requires DRA version 7.5.

To install this hotfix:

  1. Stop the DRA Administration server service.
  2. Run the DRA75000_Hotfix46958.msi file on each DRA Administration server computer.
  3. Start the DRA Administration server service.

This hotfix modifies the McsPolicyOperations.dll file on each computer where you installed the DRA Administration server. By default, this file is located in the Program Files/NetIQ/DRA folder.
