Vulnerability Manager 5.5

fix

With the release of Version 5.5, NetIQ Vulnerability Manager includes a new feature called saved lists. Saved lists are lists of values that you can reuse in security checks as a filter or exclusion list. Saved lists can include values such as user names, file names, registry keys, ports, or services.

To create a saved list, your console user account needs the New Saved List permission. For more information, see the Vulnerability Manager User Guide. To create a saved list:

1. In the tree pane, expand Security Knowledge.
2. Click Saved Lists.
3. On the Actions menu, click NewSaved List.
4. Follow the instructions in the wizard until you have finished creating the saved list.

Note: To help automate the creation of the saved list, click Import Values in the Saved List Wizard to import entries into the list rather than manually entering values one at a time. Clicking Import Values opens a browse window that lets you select a *.csv (comma delimited) file that contains the entries you would like to import.

To export a saved list, your console user account needs the Export Saved List permission. For more information, see the Vulnerability Manager User Guide. To export a saved list:

1. In the tree pane, expand Security Knowledge.
2. Click Saved Lists.
3. Select the saved list you want to export.
4. On the Actions menu, click Export.
5. Enter a file name for the saved list, and click Save.

To import a saved list, your console user account needs the Import Saved List permission. For more information, see the Vulnerability Manager User Guide. You can only import saved list (*.slt) files that were originally exported from Vulnerability Manager. To import a saved list:

1. In the tree pane, expand Security Knowledge.
2. Click Saved Lists.
3. On the Actions menu, click Import.
4. Select the saved list (*.slt) file you want to import, and click Open.

note
You can read this information in Chapter 6 of the Vulnerability Manager User Guide, along with additional information about using, editing, and deleting saved lists.
