Directory and Resource Administrator 7.5

symptom
Delegating 'Clone Contact and Modify All Properties' power does not allow the Assistant Admin to enable email for the new contact.

cause
The issue is due to the power not being translated properly.

fix

This issue is addressed in NetIQ Directory and Resource Administrator and Exchange Administrator version 7.5 Hotfix 46813.

This hotfix addresses an issue with cloning contacts with DRA.  When you clone a contact, the Clone Contact and Modify All Properties power does not allow you to enable email for the new contact.  This hotfix adds the Enable Email for Cloned Contact power to allow you to enable email when cloning a contact.  You need to grant both the Clone Contact and Modify All Properties power and the Enable Email for Cloned Contact power to an Assistant Admin.

Note: This Hotfix requires DRA version 7.5.

To install this hotfix:

  1. Stop the DRA Server service.
  2. Run the DRA75000_Hotfix46813.msi file on each DRA Server computer.
  3. Start the DRA Server service.

Then, delegate both the Clone Contact and Modify All Properties power and the Enable Email for Cloned Contact power to each Assistant Admin who should be able to clone contacts and enable email for the new contacts.

This hotfix adds an entry in the registry on each DRA Server computer to create the new power.
