To uninstall the VigilEnt Security Agent for Unix, you can either use the uninstall utility or manually uninstall. If you had not yet registered the computer where you want to remove the agent, then you must do a manual uninstall.

To uninstall Unix Manager using the product uninstall:

  1. In Unix Manager, run Scan All Hosts or Scan Selected Hosts to scan the computer where you want to uninstall the agent. If the scan does not complete, do a manual install.
  2. Click Manage Agents > Hosts> Uninstall.

To uninstall manually:

  1. Log in to the computer as root user.
  2. Change to the ./vsaunix/{OS}/bin directory.
  3. Enter ./uninstall.sh
  4. If you are uninstalling VSAU 5.0 or higher, enter rm  /etc/vigilent.conf to remove the common agent configuration file.
