Environment

NetIQ AppManager 6.x
NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x
Web Recorder
Web Response-Time Knowledge Scripts

Situation

Error: 'Unable to create WebEngine. Be sure there is a user logged on Error 0x80070005(-2147024891): Access is denied.'

Resolution

For the Web Response Time scripts created with the Web recorder, you must run the Knowledge Scripts on a machine that has a logged on user.

If you are running the Knowledge Scripts on a Windows 2000 operating system, an account must be logged at the console and not through a a terminal session.

If you run the Knowledge Scripts on a Windows 2003 operating system, a logged on account is still required, but the logged on user can access the server at the console or use the 'console 0' option in remote desktop.

The NetIQmc and NetIQccm services on the workstation\server being used to run the Knowledge Scripts must be set to run as system accounts.

Cause

The Web Response-Time KS or Web Recorder KS is running from a Windows Server, through a Terminal Server session or without an account actually logged onto the workstation.
