Environment

NetIQ Directory and Resource Administrator 8.x

Situation

How do I eliminate domains that do not exist anymore from showing in the Trusted Domains portion of Directory and Resource Administrator?

What registry key do I modify to remove domains and/or managed member servers from the list of Trusted Domains in Directory and Resource Administrator?

Resolution

To remove domains and/or managed member servers from the list of Trusted Domains in Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA), modify the registry of each DRA server in the following steps:

  1. Locate the registry key:
    • For AD domains, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mission Critical Software\OnePoint\Administration\Modules\Accounts\Domains.Dns
  2. Delete the keys for the domains or managed servers that no longer exist or should be removed.
  3. Stop and restart the NetIQ Administration Service.
  4. Once the service has re-initialized, launch the Delegation and Configuration Console under the context of the DRA Service Account or as a DRA Administrator.
  5. Perform a Domain Cache Refresh.
  6. Repeat steps 1-5 for each DRA server in the Multi-Master Set.

Additional Information

Warning: Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. NetIQ cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be resolved. Make sure that you backup your Registry prior to making any changes.
