goal
Why was the  'Syslog Facilities That Are Logged' security check removed in NetIQ Vulnerability Manager 5.5?

fix

NetIQ Vulnerability Manager 5.0 offered a Unix security check called 'Syslog Facilities That Are Logged'. The name of the check did not reflect what it did. The check was not related to Syslog, but checked for running C2 security.

NetIQ Vulnerability Manager 5.5 provides a syslog object under the customer checker and in the Security Check Wizard to perform syslog checks.
