How do I configure DRA home directory and home share policies?
How can I automatically create home directories and home shares when I use DRA to create a user account?

Resolution

DRA can automatically create home directories and home shares when you create a user account. You can also configure DRA to automatically perform the following home directory and home share tasks:

  • Delete a home directory when a you delete a user account

To configure home directory policies:

  2. In the left pane, expand Directory and Resource Administrator.
  3. In the left pane, click Policy and Automation Management.
  4. Under Common Tasks in the right pane, click ConfigureHome Directory Policies.
  5. Click Home directory.
  6. Select the appropriate home directory options.
  7. Click OK.

To configure home share policies:

Additional Information

Home directory policies apply to home directories created using DRA or natively, provided the directory path is also populated natively.  Previously created or pre-existing home directory and home share paths can not be populated for user accounts using DRA - an error will result that the directory or share already exists.  In order for home directory or home share policies set in DRA to work correctly:

  1. The directories and shares must be created using DRA
  2. The directories and shares must be created using native tools and the user account directory and share paths must be populated

Home directory and home share policies apply to directories and shares for user accounts either created during the account creation wizard or added after the user account has been created.

Note: If you enable the DRA Recycle Bin, DRA does not delete the user account home directory until you permanently delete the user account from the DRA Recycle Bin.
