symptom
Unable to connect to AutoSync server.

cause
The NetIQ Core Services service does not have proper permission to connect to the AutoSync server through proxy.

fix

Change the account that starts the NetIQ Core Services service to an account that has Domain Administrator privileges:

  1. Open the Services Control Window.
  2. Double-click the NetIQ Core Services service.
  3. Click the Log On tab.
  4. Select This Account.
  5. Enter an account that is a Domain Administrator.
  6. Click Apply and OK.
  7. Stop and start the NetIQ Core Services service.
