Resolution

As noted in the linked Microsoft KB article, you must assign the Report Services service account to run as a domain user account.  Otherwise, you must also use one of the following methods:

  • Grant read permission for the domain user account on all the user objects and all the group objects of the domain.
  • Grant read permission for the domain user account specifically on the user account or on the group of that user.

Information to resolve this issue is found in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base Article: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=842423.

Cause

The Reporting Services service account does not have proper permissions to use email subscriptions.
