Resolution

goal
Is there a script available that will disable the VigilEnt Security Agent for SQL stored procedures and restore the original Microsoft SQL stored procedures?

fact
VigilEnt Security Agent for Microsoft SQL Server 1.0x

fix

Yes.  When uninstalling VigilEnt Security Agent for SQL (VSAS), an additional step is necessary to remove the VSAS stored procedures and replace the original Microsoft stored procedures.  Please follow the steps below in order to disable the VSAS stored procedures and restore the original stored procedures:

NOTE:  Prior to running the script, backup the Master database on the Microsoft SQL server.

  1. From within Query Analyzer, run the script disable_str_procs.sql.  This script is located in the VSAS installation folder.  By default, this folder is located under:
    • \Program Files\Pentasafe\VigilEnt Security Agent for Microsoft SQL Server.
  2. After the script completes, all original Microsoft SQL stored procedures are restored.  The VSAS stored procedures will be renamed with an extension of .sqlcqr.  These can safely be deleted manually as they will no longer be in use.

Additional Notes:  After all of the stored procedures have been removed, you can now uninstall the VigilEnt Security Agent for SQL from within Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.
