Situation

A Management Server consistently holds many open SQL connections to the Repository (QDB). (sp_who2 within Query analyzer or SQL Activity Monitor)

Resolution

Reconfigure the SQL connection to use TCP\IP instead of named-pipes. 

Cause

The Management Servers in question may be using named-pipes instead of TCP\IP and the connections may hang.
