Environment

NetIQ AppManager 6.x
NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x
CPQ Teaming NICs

Situation

Discovery of any component on an AppManager (AM) Agent system in which the Discovery KS uses VBScripting gives an NetIQmc and ntdll.dll error.

Jobs only show completed in the AM Operator Console if the AM Agent services on the AM Agent that they are running against are stopped and re-started.

Installation of the AM QDB errors on check-in of each VBScript-based KS.

Resolution

CPQTeaming is used to make several NICs work as one.  On the servers where this issue was observed, CQPTeaming was enabled, but there was only one NIC installed on that system (and thus CPQTeaming was not actually needed).

Other systems were observed to be running CPQTeaming and were not exhibiting this problem.  On those servers where CPQTeaming was enabled and where this issue was not occurring, multiple NICs were installed on the systems.

To resolve this issue:

Disable CPQTeaming in the MSCONFIG tool and then reboot the server(s) involved in order to correct this issue.

Cause

Compaq Teaming (CPQTeaming) is enabled on Compaq servers out-of-the-box.  If an error occurs in the CPQTeaming application, this can affect AppManager's ability to work with VB Scripting.
