Environment

NetIQ AppManager 6.x
NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x

Situation

IIS_HTTPConnections Knowledge Script (KS) does not work for IIS 6.0.

Resolution

IIS_HTTPConnections is not supported on IIS 6 (because the counters referred to by the KS are defined differently on IIS 6 than on IIS 5, and equivalent counters are not available on IIS 6). The KS aborts with an appropriate message for IIS 6.

Please refer to http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;332155 for information on the changes.

Cause

The performance counters in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 are different from IIS 5.x.  IIS 6.0 counts each request as a unique user.  This is a change from IIS 5.x, which counted each connection as a new user.  Current Users (Anonymous or NonAnonymous) are now the number of requests currently being worked on by the server.
