Situation

Event: X MIB files failed installation.
The SNMP_AddMIBs job fails with an error

Resolution

Use the following steps to troubleshoot your installation:

  1. The full path to the directory containing the MIB files to be installed must be provided, and this path must be accessible to the SNMP Proxy Agent where the MIBs will be installed.  Providing a directory that is only accessible to the AppManager Operator Console will result in this error.
  2. Ensure that MIB file names are spelled correctly.
  3. Ensure that MIB files are Read accessible to the SNMP Proxy Agent host.


Cause

This may occur during the installation of MIB files with the SNMP_AddMIBs script.  POssible causes include:

  • The Full MIB File Path parameter is incorrect in the values tab of the job.
  • MIB File names are misspelled.
  • MIB Files may not have Read access permissions.
