Situation

Installation of AppManager Security Connector for Security Manager receives error.
Error: 'Setup has detected an installed version of NetIQ AppManager Repository that is older than AM 6.0'

Resolution

To properly install this connector, ensure the account being used has Domain Admin rights and has SA privileges to the Repository.

Cause

User does not have appropriate account permissions to access the QDB.
To verify open SQL Enterprise Manager or SQL Management Studio, drill down to the management section, then to SQL Server Logs. In the current log check if there are any security login errors. These are identified by SQL error 18456.
