Environment

NetIQ AppManager 6.x
NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x
SNMP Toolkit

Situation

Event: SyncGetTable/SyncPollTable returns SNMP Response Error Event specifying 'Bad Value'.

Resolution

View the SNMP Table with any SNMP MIB Browser. The NET-SNMP tkmib browser is provided free of charge with the SNMP Generic Toolkit, but is not supported by NetIQ. Installation and usage instructions are in the NET-SNMP.TXT file packaged with the Toolkit.

Verify that the first row of the table does have missing values.  If so, the Optional Table Indices parameter can be used to selectively filter which rows to retrieve from an SNMP Table. Specifying a list of table row indices that do not have missing values will allow the job to execute successfully.

Cause

During initial execution of SyncGetTable or SyncPollTable Job, the first row of the SNMP Table to be retrieved has a missing value. Since the SNMP Walk is out of sync to begin with, these Scripts return a "Bad Value" Event.
