Resolution

goal
How can I create custom recipients in the source for newly created users?

goal
How do I create customer recipients (CR) in the source Exchange 5.5 site to represent natively created mailboxes in the target Exchange 2000 environment?

fact
Exchange Migrator 2.x

fix

You can use the EMCLI DIRSYNC utility (\Program Files\NetIQ\Exchange Migrator\EMCLI.exe) to create custom recipients in the source Exchange 5.5 Site to represent natively created mailboxes in the target Exchange 2000 or later environment.

EMCLI DIRSYNC
provides three different direction options:

  1. SourceToTarget
  2. TargetToSource
  3. TwoWay

Either the TargetToSource or the TwoWay option can be used to create custom recipients in the source Site.  You can also specify the destination container for the source custom recipients by specifying the SOURCECONTAINER option.
