NetIQ AppManager 6.x
NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x

Situation

How can devices with Proprietary Vendor MIBS be monitored?

Resolution

The NetIQ AppManagerSNMP Toolkit Module has the ability to install or uninstall any SNMP MIB with valid and correct ASN.1 syntax on an SNMP Proxy Agent , whether it be an industry standard MIB or a vendor proprietary MIB. Once installed, SNMP values can be monitored using their ODE, which is the human readable form of the value?s name (such as ?sysUpTime.0?).

Note: Even if an MIB is unavailable, raw numeric OID values can still be specified (?.1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0? is the equivalent of sysUpTime.0) to perform monitoring functions, although using raw OIDs makes it difficult for an end user to identify the retrieved data without memorizing the numeric OID values.
