Resolution

fact
NetIQ Group Policy Administrator 4.x

fact
NetIQ Group Policy Administrator 5.0

symptom
Unable to check Group Policy Objects (GPOs) in or out in Group Policy Administrator (GPA).

symptom
Why Can't I check in or check out GPOs from Group Policy Administrator(GPA)?

cause
There is not enough space on the drive of the machine running the repository. This is usually the C:\ drive.

fix

The issue occurs when there is no more room on the repository share to write when a Group Policy Object (GPO) is either being checked out or checked back in.  Because Group Policy Administrator (GPA) has no grooming capabilities for the database, the database will only get larger over time.  The only work around is to make space on the drive by moving or deleting files, or by moving the repository to another drive.  Once enough space has been recovered, GPOs will be able to be checked in and out again.
