symptom
Error: 'Failed to create Loader Client object.  Access Denied.'

symptom
Error occurs when installing the Windows agent.

cause
Access is being denied to the NTLoader client COM object, even though the user has local administrator permissions.

fix

To resolve this issue:

  1. On the target machine, go to Start | Run,type 'DCOMCNFG', and click OK. The Distributed COM Configuration Properties window will open.
  2. Select the Default Security tab.
  3. Click Edit Default for the 'Default Access Permissions'.
  4. Click Add and enter the account that is being used for installation permissions.
  5. At the bottom of the dialog box, select the 'Type of Access' pull down menu and set it to Allow Access.
  6. Click OK. 
  7. Click OK again.
  8. Retry your installation.
