symptom
Profile and Password Synchronization is not synchronizing to other iSeries servers.

cause
SNADS (Systems Network Architecture Distribution Service) is not configured to communicate to other iSeries servers. SNADS must be running and configured correctly in order for Profile and Password Management Synchronization to work.

fix

Follow the steps below to see if you can communicate from one iSeries server to another iSeries server using SNADS (Systems Network Architecture Distribution Service) :

  1. Access an iSeries command line.
  2. Type SNDNETMSG and press F4=prompt.
  3. In the Message text field indicate the message that you want to send.
  4. In the User ID field indicate the user profile that you want to send the message to.
  5. In the Address field indicate the name of the iSeries server.
  6. Press Enter.

If the message is not sent contact IBM support to determine if SNADS is configured correctly.
