You can assign permissions directly to users or groups to allow them access to specific tabs within the VigilEnt Policy Center (VPC) Administration Site.  However, administration of these permissions is easier when using Roles and assigning permissions to those Roles.

To create a new Role:

1. Log in to the VPC Admin Site.
2. Click Users | Role Info.
3. Click Add.
4. Enter the Role Name and Description.
5. Click Add.
6. Search for the User(s) or Group(s) you wish to add to this Role. (Note:  This must be done individually for each User or Group you wish to add.)
7. Select the User and click OK.
8. Click OK to return to the Users screen.

After creating the Role, you can assign permissions to the Role as follows:

1. Click on Administration | Permissions.
2. Use the drop-down list to select the Role you created above.
3. Expand Permissions.
4. Expand Content.
5. Select the Policy Document check box.
6. Click Update.
