PSEREPORT' jobs running under the 'ZPSE' subsystem are taking up 90% of CPU resources on the iSeries.

cause
Too many jobs have been submitted from Security Manager, Vulnerability Manager, or VigilEnt Security Manager and are in the ZPSE1 or ZPSE2 job queue trying to run.

fix

To reduce the CPU on the iSeries and the ZPSE subsystem, end all of the jobs in the ZPSE1 and ZPSE2 job queues by following the steps below:

  1. Access a command entry line.
  2. Type ENDSBS PSCOMMON/ZPSE, press Enter.
  3. Type WRKJOBQ JOBQ(PSCOMMON/ZPSE1), press Enter.
  4. Indicate a 4=End next to each job listed, press Enter.
  5. Type WRKJOBQ JOBQ(PSCOMMON/ZPSE2), press Enter.
  6. Indicate a 4=End next to each job listed, press Enter.
  7. Start the ZPSE subsystem by typing STRSBS PSCOMMON/ZPSE, press Enter.
