fix

The port that NetIQ Group Policy Administrator (GPA) console uses to talk to the Repository database is port 1433. This is not configurable.  If the port is changed on the Repository SQL server to a different port, GPA will allow you to connect to the Repository, however, you will be unable to enumerate any of the domains or categories in the Repository.

An enhancement request is open to allow the ability to configure the ports that is used to talk to the Repository to be considered in future release of GPA.

The following KB details what ports that GPA uses:

  • NETIQKB11835: What protocol and port are used by the Group Policy Administrator Repository MMC snap-in to communicate with the Repository server?
