Runthe installation of MSDE SP3 utilizing the SAPWD switch and specifying a strong password.  This will allow the installation to complete. 

To do this:

  1. Switch to the command line.
  2. Change directory to the directory where the MSDE installation executable is located (msdesetup.exe) and run the following command: msdesetup.exe SAPWD="AStrongSAPwd"
