An error occurs when using Deploy Agents Remotely in VigilEnt Security Agent for Unix ( VSAU ) 5.0.
symptom
Error: 'ERR: Could not find Manifest File . . .'
cause
This error indicates that the manifest file (.mft) needed for the specified platform being installed to could not be found. The .mft file is being searched for in the directory specified in the Source Directory, which is the entry area inside the Define Deployment parameters dialog box. The directory specified here is not a location in the current Utility Console (aka Unix Manager) installation directory structure. This is a directory on the installation media ( CD or directory if the CD was copied to disk ) where the .mft files reside.
fix
When specifying the source directory with browse, click on any file in the directory. It is not important which file in the directory is selected as the installer will only look at the directory and not the file selected. By default, the directory is the .\vsau directory, if it is required to see where the .mft files reside.
